Wiz acquires Gem Security to strengthen cloud detection and response

Wiz has acquired Gem Security, a provider of cloud detection and response (CDR) technology. The deal is part of Wiz’s push to consolidate security tools and extend its platform to cover security operations in the cloud.

Gem Security’s platform focuses on real-time defence against cloud-native attacks, analysing cloud activity to help security operations centres identify and investigate suspicious actions. Wiz said the acquisition will combine its cloud native application protection platform (CNAPP) with Gem’s CDR expertise.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
