Visa has announced an enhanced version of its A2A Protect service, which uses real-time risk insights to help banks prevent account-to-account fraud before funds leave customer accounts. The expanded solution introduces a unified fraud score that integrates Featurespace technology, giving financial institutions faster and clearer signals to detect more fraud while reducing unnecessary alerts.

A2A Protect leverages advanced AI and transfer learning to provide banks with immediate access to global risk insights on A2A transactions, without the need for months of model development or waiting for other banks to join a consortium. Banks that opt in can also incorporate additional network-level signals to detect emerging threats across the ecosystem.

According to Visa, A2A Protect has been shown to increase fraud detection by 75% in the first six months of deployment. The service integrates with existing systems through a single API and provides plain-language explanations for flagged transactions, helping fraud teams act quickly without disrupting legitimate customers.
