Qunnect publishes quantum security research and confirms US federal work

Qunnect, a Brooklyn-based quantum networking company, has published a white paper titled “Entanglement for Security Beyond QKD” and confirmed work with US defence, national security and energy stakeholders. The research describes three security applications built on its Carina hardware that use quantum entanglement to verify device identity, connection integrity and user location alongside conventional encryption.
The company said the approach goes beyond quantum key distribution, adding physics-based trust to networks carrying sensitive information. Qunnect operates metropolitan quantum networks in New York, where it has worked with Cisco and NYU, and in Berlin with Deutsche Telekom, and was commissioned by the State of New Mexico to build ABQ-Net as open access testing infrastructure in Albuquerque.
The announcement follows congressional direction for the Department of War to develop quantum networks and a White House call for agencies to secure systems against quantum threats.
