Qualys launches InstaScan to detect vulnerabilities within minutes of disclosure

Qualys has launched InstaScan, a new capability within its Enterprise TruRisk Management platform that detects vulnerabilities within minutes of disclosure. Powered by Agent Insta, it uses AI to monitor vendor security advisories and threat intelligence, correlating them with an organisation’s live inventory and telemetry to identify impacted assets automatically.

The company says InstaScan covers 90% of detections within minutes across its initial supported technologies, closing the gap between vulnerability disclosure and detection. Qualys chief executive Sumedh Thakar said a slow vulnerability management programme is now the biggest vulnerability an organisation has, and that detection must be continuous and driven by live intelligence rather than scan cycles.

The launch comes as vulnerability exploitation became the leading breach entry point in Verizon’s 2026 Data Breach Investigations Report, accounting for 31% of breaches, with AI compressing attacker timelines from months to hours.
