NETSCOUT extends Adaptive DDoS Protection to mitigate outbound attacks

NETSCOUT has extended its Adaptive DDoS Protection (ADP) solution to help service providers automatically detect and mitigate outbound DDoS attack traffic, moving defence from the attack target to its source. The move addresses the growing threat of Turbo-Mirai class botnets that weaponise consumer broadband routers, cameras and other IoT devices to generate multi-terabit attacks.
By stopping malicious traffic before it leaves their networks, providers can reduce abuse complaints and infrastructure costs while protecting their own networks and peering relationships, and lowering subscriber churn and regulatory risk. The capability is backed by NETSCOUT’s ATLAS Intelligence Feed and ASERT analysts, and is delivered through its Arbor Sightline and Arbor Threat Mitigation System.
