Meta Launches Personal AI Agent, Muse, Emphasizes Safety and Privacy

Meta has launched Muse, a personal artificial intelligence agent for people aged 18 and over, available initially in the US. The agent runs on a dedicated, secure virtual machine that houses both the agent and the user’s data, and can be messaged through a separate Muse app or via WhatsApp.

Muse can handle day-to-day tasks such as sending emails, booking travel, and creating personalised plans for long-term goals like exercise regimes or setting up a business. It can open a browser, fill out forms, and negotiate on the user’s behalf.

The launch fits into CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s vision of AI superintelligence available to everyone, as outlined in a recent essay. Meta is emphasising the safety and privacy features of the agent.
