Lasso Security launches LEAP guardrail and raises $30m

Lasso Security has launched LEAP, an AI application guardrail that runs on standard server processors without needing graphics chips. The company also announced $30m in new funding.
LEAP is transformer-free and returns a verdict in under five milliseconds, according to Lasso, at thousands of times the throughput of existing guardrails. The platform also includes RAPID, a self-hosted model that handles the small share of decisions requiring a judgment call against a plain-language policy.
Lasso’s offensive team runs automated red teaming against customer applications and agents. The software is deployed across financial services, insurance, hospitality and automotive, covering tens of thousands of agents and billions of requests a month. Revenue has grown more than 500% in the past 12 months.
ClearSky Advisors led the round, with participation from Entrée Capital, iAngels, Singtel Innov8, Mindset and Swish Data. The company plans to use the funds to expand engineering teams in Tel Aviv and New York and push into federal and regulated-industry accounts.
