“SASE Gateway” provided by KDDI : How SP Interconnect Simplifies Closed Network Zero Trust

KDDI Corporation has launched a managed service called SASE Gateway powered by Palo Alto Networks, built on Palo Alto’s SP Interconnect architecture. The service connects traffic from KDDI’s closed Wide Area Virtual Switch 2 network directly to Prisma SASE, alongside internet connections, removing the overhead of IPsec links.

KDDI said the offering is the first-phase core solution in the Security-as-a-Service domain under its AccelWaves Vision, and a milestone towards the KDDI AccelWaves Network autonomous enterprise service planned for 2028. It can be combined with Palo Alto’s Cortex XDR and Prisma Browser, and with SOC and incident response services from LAC Co., Ltd.

Palo Alto Networks described the launch as part of the two companies’ joint integrated security portfolio, aimed at Japanese enterprises adopting AI, hybrid work and cloud migration.
