Island raises $400m Series F at $6.4bn valuation

Island, which makes an enterprise browser, has raised $400m in a Series F round led by Evolution Equity Partners. J.P. Morgan, Sequoia Capital and Georgian also took part. The round values the company at $6.4bn, up $1.8bn from its previous raise.
Island’s Chromium-based browser is used by knowledge workers to reach cloud applications. It blocks malicious webpages and phishing emails, and can be configured to refuse logins from insecure workstations or Wi-Fi networks. The company also offers an endpoint client, Island Desktop, and an extension for workers who prefer another browser.
The platform overlays customer-built security controls on third-party SaaS applications and collects telemetry on user interactions to flag unauthorised activity. Last month Island added features for securing AI workloads, including an inventory of employee AI agents and the MCP servers, files and browser extensions they use.
Island said the funding will go towards product development and go-to-market work, and it reportedly plans to hire 500 staff by mid-2027.
