Hikvision has released Hik-Connect 7, a major upgrade to its cloud-based security software that adds HIKO, an AI engine, and a redesigned interface. The update is rolling out globally to existing Team Mode and Personal Mode users through the current app and portal, with no separate hardware required.

Hik-Connect 7 is built around three upgraded experiences: AI Guardian, AI Search and AI Assistant. HIKO runs in the cloud and lets users issue instructions in natural language, such as setting up visitor access for a specific vehicle, with the system carrying out the related configuration steps automatically.

Eunice Yu, Hik-Connect product manager at Hikvision, said the aim is for the system to understand what users need and find answers itself rather than requiring people to learn how to operate it. The company said the three features together form a single AI-powered security experience covering monitoring, search, investigation and deterrence.
