Guardio raises $40M at $1.1B valuation for consumer cybersecurity

Guardio, an Israeli cybersecurity startup, has raised $40 million in new funding at a $1.1 billion valuation. The round included participation from Wiz co-founder and CEO Assaf Rappaport, alongside existing investors ION Crossover Partners, Union Tech Ventures, Vintage Investment Partners, Cerca Partners and Emerge Ventures. Total funding to date now stands at $167 million.
Guardio uses artificial intelligence to deliver enterprise-grade protection to consumers, guarding against scams, phishing, malicious websites and identity theft across browsing, email, texting and device use. Its detection engine proactively flags or blocks risky links, fake login pages, dangerous downloads and scam messages before users act on them.
The company’s browser extension and mobile protection check sites and downloads in real time, warning about fake sites, malware, delivery pages, malicious extensions and suspicious browser behaviour. It also monitors for personal data appearing in data breaches. CEO Amos Peled said cybercrime has become democratised with AI, noting that people lose savings to AI-crafted scams rather than viruses.
