Forescout joins Project Watershed 250 to help secure water utilities

Forescout Technologies has joined Project Watershed 250, a public-private initiative launched with the White House, the State of Texas, water utilities and technology providers to strengthen cybersecurity for water and wastewater systems.

Forescout will provide participating utilities with continuous monitoring, asset visibility, adversary-focused assessments, vulnerability prioritisation and remediation workflows, network segmentation and AI-enabled defence capabilities. The company said the programme helps utilities validate real-world risk and strengthen resilience across cyber-physical environments.

Project Watershed 250 takes a lifecycle approach to cyber risk reduction, analysing risk from an adversary’s perspective and tracing potential attack paths from the public internet into operational technology environments. Forescout said it already supports more than 70 US federal entities and eight of the top 10 Fortune 500 utilities.
