Fingerprint expands device intelligence platform for AI traffic

Fingerprint has expanded its device intelligence platform with four products aimed at identifying AI traffic. The company said Authorized AI Agent Detection verifies signed agents from OpenAI, AWS AgentCore, Browserbase, Manus and Anchor Browser, while AI Assistant Detection examines direct HTTP traffic from assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude.
The Automation Intelligence API, available in preview, classifies automated traffic without client-side JavaScript and can run at the CDN edge, in middleware or on the backend, returning context on proxy, VPN, Tor and geolocation signals. The Fingerprint MCP Server, now generally available, lets authorised AI assistants query device signals, fraud events and workspace management through the Model Context Protocol.
The launch reflects a shift in how identity decisions are made as AI assistants bypass browsers and connect directly to websites and APIs. Fingerprint said organisations need to distinguish verified AI systems from spoofed automation rather than treating all automated traffic the same.
