FaceTec partners with Project Lifesaver to add biometric ID to locator bracelets

FaceTec has partnered with Project Lifesaver International to add its UR Code biometric identity verification technology to the location bracelets worn by at-risk individuals. The bracelets are used by first responders to locate people with autism, dementia and other cognitive conditions who may wander off.
The UR Codes, which can also be attached to clothes and personal items, allow anyone with a smartphone to scan the code, see the person’s identity and emergency contact information, and match the biometric data to the person’s face. Project Lifesaver announced the adoption of the codes at its annual conference in Orlando.
FaceTec has licensed the UR Code software to Project Lifesaver at no cost and in perpetuity. The company said the codes provide a secure, cost-effective way to identify lost individuals and support first responders.
