F5 has enhanced its AI Gateway and integrated it into the F5 AI Security Platform, providing a unified control plane to govern AI model, agent, and tool access while optimizing costs. The gateway enforces policies on every AI request, addressing the fragmented approach to AI security and governance.

According to F5’s 2026 State of Application Strategy Report, 77% of organisations now focus on inference, and they manage an average of seven AI models. The solution includes budget controls, model routing, and agent access controls, and can reduce token spend by up to 60%.

It also offers MCP Gateway for fine-grained agent access and AI Guardrails to inspect prompts and responses for sensitive data and injection attempts.
