Cloudflare launches Web Search API through AI Gateway with Ceramic.ai, Exa and Linkup

Introducing Web Search API via AI Gateway
Image: Cloudflare

Cloudflare has launched a Web Search API delivered through its AI Gateway, letting agents query live web content instead of guessing URLs and returning 404 errors. The product is available from launch through partners Ceramic.ai, Exa and Linkup.

The API injects fresh, structured snippets into an agent’s context so models can work with information published after their training cut-off. Developers can call it through a REST endpoint, a Cloudflare Workers binding, or as a server tool, and queries draw on AI Gateway credits with no markup on the partners’ list pricing.

Cloudflare said its search partners have committed to its bot crawling standards, including identifying their crawlers, respecting robots.txt and linking to the source of crawled content. Bring-your-own-key support is also available, and Cloudflare will flag partners that offer zero data retention.
