Cloudflare launches Adaptive Intelligence for bot management

Cloudflare has launched Adaptive Intelligence, a detection engine within its Bot Management product that writes and discards its own blocking rules while an attack is underway. The engine trains continuously on live traffic across Cloudflare’s network, which the company says carries more than a trillion web visits a day.
The rules it produces are short-lived and narrow, each aimed at a specific threat, and rotate often enough that attackers probing a site are mapping a defence that has already changed. Cloudflare argues that conventional tools rely on scheduled updates that can take weeks or months to deploy, while attacker tooling turns over in hours.
The engine analyses behaviour across several timeframes at once to surface slow campaigns that hide under rate thresholds, such as drawn-out credential stuffing and scraping runs. It is fed by Precursor, Cloudflare’s browser-level system that logs how a visitor moves, scrolls and types across an entire session.
Adaptive Intelligence is available to Cloudflare Bot Management customers now. Pricing was not disclosed.
