Boston Scientific cyberattack halts manufacturing for two weeks

Boston Scientific has disclosed that a cyberattack detected on 25 August 2026 disrupted manufacturing and order fulfilment for roughly two weeks, prompting the medical device maker to withdraw its third-quarter and full-year guidance. The company said the intrusion was confined to on-premises IT systems and that its cloud environment was unaffected.
Production stopped at sites including Cork, Ireland, because plant shift operations depend on enterprise IT services such as order release, scheduling, quality and identity. Boston Scientific said manufacturing, order fulfilment and shipping were fully restored on 9 September, with a revised outlook due alongside its third-quarter results on 28 October.
